A new practice of exchange of workcamp leaders was presented on the network’s level at the Alliance’ General Assembly in Athens, Greece, from 1 to 3 November 2017.
General Assembly is a busy time. In 3 days main projects are presented, new proposals to innovate the network discussed. XCHANGE was one of those projects and one of those innovative ideas, thanks to having Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations as its strategic partner and 11 (out of 50) members of the network involved in the project consortium.
50 members of the Alliance from 29 countries analyzed the pilot practice of the exchange of international leaders and agreed to:

  • multiply the practice in 2018
  • start analyzing the numbers in yearly statistics, so to follow trends in exchange of leaders

This practice also promotes the Alliance Pool of Trainers and Training and Education Policy Paper, as it emphasizes the need for members to train their leaders following the Alliance standards for trainings.

The promotional tool, the web documentary “Diary of a camp leader” has become a common tool to all 50 Alliance members, who place together 18.000 volunteers in 1500+ workcamps worldwide.

The project XCHANGE is supported within the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, KA2 Capacity building in the field of youth and interlinked and co-financed with the project “National youth volunteering programme YOUTH RULES 2017” supported by the Ministry for youth and sport of the Republic of Serbia.
