Goal and Project Description:
Create an enabling environment for citizens’ associations to participate in the implementation of laws in the field of environmental protection.
The Green Decisions project will focus on strengthening those elements that are recognized as insufficiently strong in good environmental governance concerning citizens’ associations.
Activities:
Education of citizens’ associations on monitoring legislation and participation in decision-making processes.
Co-ordination of citizens’ associations’ participation in decision-making processes at the local and national level.
Promotion of existing mechanisms for participation in environmental decision-making processes.
Developing a set of recommendations for improving cooperation between citizens’ associations and institutions.
Project Results:
At the general goal level, the expected result is: Citizens’ associations and institutions understand the importance of co-operation and encourage it by constantly raising capacity and improving the legal framework.
1. Citizens’ associations understand the decision-making process in the area of the environment at the local and national level.
2. Strengthened cooperation between citizens’ associations and parliamentarians through the Green Chair mechanism.
3. Increased interest of citizens’ associations to participate in decision-making processes and in monitoring the implementation of legislation.
4. Continuously available educational information materials on cooperation mechanisms of citizens’ associations and institutions as well as participation in decision-making processes.
Target Group:
The target group of the project are citizens' associations dealing with environmental protection.
