Postcard – what EU integration brings to nature protection in Serbia

Goal and Project Description:

The aim of the project was to improve cooperation and management of protected areas in Serbia though the implementation of EU acquis.

Project was helping protected areas managers to improve their work and strengthen cooperation with local population.

Project Results:

– Established model of education on EU negotiation chapter 27 – the online course was prepared and promoted.

– At least 10 000 citizens in protected areas informed about benefits that membership in the EU will bring – stamped and distributed postcards, the promotion was done in local media.

– Promoted a partnership between protected areas managers and embassies of EU countries in Serbia. Her Excellency, Ambassador of Netherlands in Serbia, become “an ambassador of Special nature reserve Palic Ludas”.

– Collected contacts of over 500 stakeholders in nature protection in Serbia; prepared and distributed the newsletter.

Target Group:

Target groups were managers of protected areas in Serbia. Direct beneficiaries were managers of Đerdap, Obedska bara, Palić-Ludaš, Zasavica and Gradac.
