The Green initiative – Oplaneti se! Recycle

Goal and Project Description:

Non-formal NGO network “Green list of Serbia” in cooperation with a Green Initiative have realized national campaign aiming for increased involvement of citizens, local authorities, and recycling business in developing recycling in Serbia.

Project Results:

12 local actions organized in Bački Petrovac, Novi Sad, Kruševac, Trstenik, Raška, Gornji Milanovac, Vranje, Vučje, Pirot, Knjaževac, Niš, Bor, and Pirot. During the actions primary selection of the waste was promoted, the partnership of public and private sector stimulated, cleaning on illegal waste dups organized. During the activities around 74 tonnes of plastic, paper, electronic waste was collected and transported for recycling.

In June 2012 bike caravan was organized. 14 eco-activists passe over 400 km in 5 days, organized promotional activities for citizens, distributed 3000 waste collection bags.

Additionally, 2 Oplaneti se! recycle festivals were organized, in Belgrade and in Novi Sad.

The campaign was organized joitly by BCIF, ISc and YRS.
