Goal and Project Description:
The aim of the project was to strengthen implementation of the CITES Convention in the Republic of Serbia.
Project Results:
All activities during 2010 and 2011 were realized in cooperation with CEEweb for biodiversity’s Working group on CITES. Focus of work was on monitoring interner trade of CITES species in Serbia. As a result monitoring report with all details was issued and presented to the national decision makers. Promotional activities were focused on awareness raising of citizens: foto exibition was organized in Belgrade, Zrenjanin, Carska bara and Valjevo. It attracted the big interest of citizens and media. Additionally, educational leaflets about CITES convention were distributed to the public.
